# Configuration file

The configuration file is used to define the system parameters and room dimensions. It is located in:

`\Exaplan_Data\StreamingAssets\Exaplan_config.json`

It has the following structure:

```json
{
  "interfaceDisplay": 0,
  "projectionDisplay": 2,
  "projectionOrientation":-90,
  "roomWidthMeters": 14.782,
  "roomHeightMeters": 32.241,
&#x20;
# VIOSO Warp Blend
Exaplan can apply warping and blending to the multi-projection canvas based on a VIOSO (.vwf) file.
The file can be generated from [VIOSO Calibration software](https://docs.vioso.com) (Anyblend, VIOSO6, VIOSO7 or Projection Tools - Mapper2D). It needs to be in the following format:&#x20;
* 2D
* Single Mapping, no splits
* Single file (merge all).
Below is an example with a 2x channel calibration file opened in the viewer:
<figure><img src="https://2429307855-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5asvmaYTBUEQm4EqgG47%2Fuploads%2FRLH1a1PFPRIcmToK5Ij4%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=19fdd7e1-2ab1-4975-88ed-bb9df54d9063" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
1. To activate the warp & blend in Exaplan, go to the  [`Configuration file`](/configuration/configuration-file) and set the `VIOSOWarpBlend`  parameter to "**true**".
2. Next, you need to configure the VIOSOWarpBlend .ini file to reference the (.vwf) export as shown below:
`\Exaplan_Data\StreamingAssets\VIOSOWarpBlend.ini`&#x20;
```tsconfig
// VIOSOWarpBlend.ini for Exaplan
[default]

logLevel=2

base=[1000, 0, 0, 0; 0, 1000, 0, 0; 0, 0, -1000, 0; 0, 0, 0, 1]
eye=[0,0,0]
near=0.15000 ;the near plane clipping distance
far=10000.00000 ;the near plane clipping distance

bAutoView=1;
autoViewC=1.00000 ;
bTurnWithView=1
bBicubic=1
bDoNoBlack=0

;Path for the calibration file exported from VIOSO.
calibFile=C:\Users\AJ\Documents\VIOSO\VIOSO6\Export\screen.vwf

# Auto-scale your drawing

The Exaplan **Autoscaler** can automatically calculate the scale of your uploaded 2D floor plan (PDF/Image) to match the real-world dimensions in a 1:1 ratio. This eliminates the need for manual scaling with the controls (+/-) and ensures precise alignment.

Once a reference object measurement is defined (e.g. a known wall length or marker distance), the Autoscaler computes the required scale factor and updates the projection accordingly.

<figure><img src="https://2429307855-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5asvmaYTBUEQm4EqgG47%2Fuploads%2FdVPhyCOOa1qnImKCIG6d%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=89884a0a-efe8-45c1-8f4e-8f70adff348e" alt="" width="300"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### **Steps:**

1. Select the layer you would like to autoscale.
2. In the control options, choose "**Ref**" under the scaling controls.\ <img src="https://2429307855-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5asvmaYTBUEQm4EqgG47%2Fuploads%2FJ14zGS9NoNnzoAgK1SBO%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=1b01d689-39fe-472f-8c90-a56a60f4e0fa" alt="" data-size="original">
3. This will pop up the autoscaler preview window.
4. Click on any two points on the preview on the preview to define a reference distance
   1. You can drag each point **(A/B)** individually to fine tune.
   2. Hold the "**shift**" key to snap to axis.
   3. Use the to **mouse wheel** to zoom in/out and **right click** to pan (navigation).&#x20;
5. Type in the real-word distance (m, , in, ft)
6. Click **Apply**\
   The system recalculates and applies the correct scale immediately.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://2429307855-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5asvmaYTBUEQm4EqgG47%2Fuploads%2FpCxUSJouDS6qEhz8iCwQ%2Fautoscaler.jpg?alt=media&amp;token=6b40f802-7321-4c62-bc39-f6aedcdfb7cd" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# File Watcher

The file Watcher is a thread function that automatically monitors the source file path of the imported plan layer (e.g., PDF, DXF, PNG). If the source file is modified externally, the system detects the change and triggers a re-import of the plan in Exaplan while preserving its scaling and position.

### **Purpose**

This feature streamlines the iterative design process by removing the need for manual reloading. users can update the plan in their preferred CAD software, save the file, and see the changes reflected instantly in the 1:1 floor projection.

### **Configuration**

You can enable the File Watcher in the[ Configuration File](/configuration/configuration-file) by setting:

```json
"enableFileWatcher":true
```

After you restart Exaplan and load a file, the watcher symbol should show up as below:

<figure><img src="https://2429307855-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5asvmaYTBUEQm4EqgG47%2Fuploads%2FSXnjmkceNvCuY7BmsEMO%2FEXPLN_fileWatcher.jpg?alt=media&amp;token=eeeb380d-483b-4877-a411-1e8488d83958" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The configuration file for the panel is located in:

`"C:\Exaplan\Exaplan_Data\StreamingAssets\Exaplan_AdminControlPanel.json"`&#x20;

The syntax for the admin panel components is explained below:

<table><thead><tr><th width="186">Class</th><th>Parameters</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>admin</td><td><ul><li>pinlock: true, false<br>Lock the admin window with a password.</li><li>pin: pick a 4 digit PIN. e.g. "1234"</li></ul></td></tr><tr><td>projectors</td><td>list of projector IP addresses to be used with pjlink commands</td></tr><tr><td>pjlinkPort</td><td>Port for pjlink communication with projectors. Default is 4352</td></tr><tr><td>defaultButtons</td><td>the 4 default buttons for turning ON/OFF the system and projectors.</td></tr><tr><td>customButtons</td><td>add up to 6 extra buttons with custom commands.</td></tr></tbody></table>

Buttons syntax:

<table><thead><tr><th width="186">Button Parameter</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>label</td><td>Custom name for the button that will be visible on the interface.</td></tr><tr><td>color</td><td>Color of the button. Options are: <em>red, blue, green, yellow, magenta, white.</em></td></tr><tr><td>type</td><td><ul><li><code>"system"</code>: command line instruction in batch language.</li><li><code>"pjlink"</code>: protocol for projection control over TCP/IP.</li><li><p><code>"exaplay"</code>: tcp command to Exaplay. Requires:</p><ul><li><code>"ip"</code>: address of the Exaplay machine.</li><li><code>"port"</code>: Exaplay port. defaults to 8100.</li><li><code>"command"</code>: from the <a href="https://docs.exaplay.one/control/tcp-and-upd-control#tcp-in-receive">Exaplay TCP/IN dictionnary</a></li></ul></li><li><code>"macro"</code> : a sequence of commands from the types above. Takes a list of "commands" : [ ]</li></ul></td></tr></tbody></table>

Example:

```json
{
  "admin": { "pinLock": false, "pin": "1234" },
  "projectors": ["192.168.49.101","192.168.0.103","192.168.0.102"],
# Demo Panel
Showcase a selection of your highlight projection
Click on "browse Demos" in the Project section to open the demo panel.
There you can open and customize five highlight plans each with a preset project (.json) and a custom thumbnail picture.
<figure><img src="https://2429307855-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5asvmaYTBUEQm4EqgG47%2Fuploads%2FOwqFi3T1N9kIT4zmyHck%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=fac0ee2c-d051-4056-b9dd-1bcf04e89c72" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
Once you are finished editing, click on "confirm" on the top left to save. The demos are perpetually saved in the application.
A configuration file is automatically created and can be viewed here:
`\Exaplan\Exaplan_Data\StreamingAssets\Exaplan_DemoProjects.json`&#x20;
# Media Tab
Available from v1.5.2+
The media tab is a quick and accessible panel for showing a media overlay on top of the floor plans. This can be used for a welcome footage or a launching logo.
<table><thead><tr><th width="279">Argument</th><th width="169">Value</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><code>-startup</code></td><td>string project_path</td><td>Loads a startup project (.json)</td></tr><tr><td><code>-force-device-index</code></td><td>int gpu_index</td><td>Force Exaplan to use a specific GPU for performance.</td></tr><tr><td><code>-force-d3d11</code></td><td>none</td><td>Force the application to use Direct3D 11 for rendering.</td></tr><tr><td><code>-logFile</code></td><td>string log_path</td><td>Specifiy a log file path</td></tr><tr><td><code>-log-memory-performance-stats</code></td><td>none</td><td>Adds a detailed memory report to the Player log file when closing Exaplan.</td></tr></tbody></table>
### Example <a href="#bkmrk-example-3a" id="bkmrk-example-3a"></a>
This command starts EXAPLAN with the following operations:
* Load the startup project: "startup.json"
* Forces the rendering load on the second GPU. In this case, the first GPU is a low-end monitor graphics card running the UI display, and the 2nd is the high-performance card.
```
C:\Exaplan\Exaplan.exe -startup "C:\Users\VIOSOCAVE\Documents\startup.json" -force-device-index 1
```
